Handle the Negativity Before it Devours Your Motivation, Productivity and Growth—Grant Cardone

I drive a Rolls Royce Wraith which has a sticker price of over $300,000. Someone might see that and think, “What a waste! How many people could have been fed for the cost of that car?”

My answer is that my Rolls Royce fed the families who built it, it fed the people who made the tires, it fed the people who made the parts, it fed the people in the copper mine who mined the copper for the wires, it fed the people who make the trucks that haul the copper ore, it fed the folks who transported it to the dealership, and it definitely fed the salesman who sold it to me. My Rolls Royce fed a lot of people.

The difference is a negative mindset versus a positive mindset.

Do you think with a capitalist mentality or a welfare mentality?

You can see there are two mindsets here, capitalism (positive / opportunity) mentality and welfare (negative / shortage) mentality. When you buy something, you put money in people’s pockets and give them dignity for their skills. How you think determines what you will do. We can say that people who think positively and intelligently behave in ways that are smart, leading to success. This is in contrast to people who think negatively and behave in ways that are dumb, leading to failure.

At your workplace, you are likely confronted by people with welfare mentalities and hear them say negative things on occasion. I want to give you a rebuttal for some of these common phrases. Originally, I created my first Rebuttal Manual last year to help people learn to handle any objection in sales and business. The book is filled with gold, giving exact word tracks on how to pitch prospects and what to say.

Inspired by that, I wanted to bring you a new Rebuttal Manual today.

The Negativity Rebuttal Manual

Oftentimes in life, you might hear someone say something and you aren’t sure how to respond right away. Study these word tracks to respond to them with positivity and deflect negative thoughts and ideas:

  • Co-Worker Says: “Money won’t make you happy.”
  • 10X Response: “Money may not make me happy, but being broke doesn’t make me happy either.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “That’s impossible.”
  • 10X Response: “I can do anything as long as I take full responsibility and never quit.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “Thank God it’s Friday.”
  • 10X Response: “I’m working towards my dreams this weekend. Thank God I’m Free.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “Patience is a Virtue.”
  • 10X Response: “If that’s so, then urgency is divine. I’m in a hurry.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “We can’t do that.”
  • 10X Response: “I can find a way.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “I don’t have time.”
  • 10X Response: “I control time. I’m not looking at managing an hour; I’m looking at devouring minutes.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “I’m only human.”
  • 10X Response: “I’m super-human.”
  • Co-Worker Says: “I hate Mondays.”
  • 10X Response: “You wouldn’t hate MON-day if you were making MON-ey.”

What would you add to this list? Put them in the comments below, I’d love to hear your positive thoughts!

Be great today,
