Two Football Teams Prayed—Which Team Gets Divine Intervention?

You see this play out every fall. Two teams are going to battle, and they both pray for the win. Afterward, one team wins and one team loses—they can’t both win. It doesn’t have to be on the football field—it could be on a basketball court, a soccer field, or even a chess match. The idea remains the same. There is one trophy, and not everybody is going to win it. Real life isn’t a kids soccer league where everyone gets a trophy. One team wins each match, the other team loses.

There are two options—either God is a Patriots fan or the Patriots take responsibility for winning. You can say that God hates the Cleveland Browns, or you can say that the Browns don’t take responsibility to win. Which is it? There is a reason why the Patriots seem to win every year and the Browns seem to lose.

Responsibility can be defined as followed:

  1. Having an obligation to do something, or having control over or care for someone, as part of one’s job or role

  2. Being the primary cause of something and so able to be blamed or credited for it.

  3. Of a job or position, involving important duties, independent decision-making, or control over others.

Are you responsible for your own life? Are you intervening in your own life? Are you the Patriots or the Browns?

Les Brown is a winner, but he wasn’t born with any advantages—he was born in Liberty City in an abandoned building. If you don’t know where that is, it’s deep in the ghetto of Miami. We’re talking Grand Theft Auto ghetto, the hood that makes other hoods scared.

Median Household income in Liberty City: $26,364 (Poverty Level: $20,160)

Les was at one time a garbage collector and labeled as educable mentally retarded (EMR) during his school days, but today he is a multi-millionaire. He says that greatness is a choice, it’s not your destiny. Accept responsibility for your life and remember that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else.

My friend Les teaches that there are 3 reasons why people fail:

1. They don’t know what they have going for them

Did you know that you aren’t afflicted? You’re gifted. I didn’t grow up in an especially privileged household with any connections to the supposedly “right” people. I was given no money to start my companies and was not especially more “gifted” than the next person. If I can get rich, you can too. We are all gifted, just many people don’t realize it yet.

2. They don’t know how to make money with their natural gifts and talents

You have to learn how to sell folks. You can be a great writer, but until you learn to sell nobody is going to read your books. When I was a young kid I didn’t know how to make money, I didn’t know how to monetize my talents. This is where training comes in. You weren’t born knowing what to do. Gary Vee may say he was born an entrepreneur, but I wasn’t—so you aren’t alone.

3. They don’t know how to reach people to pay for those talents

Les himself has said, “You can’t soar like an eagle if you’re surrounded by pigeons.” Get around power. Are you ready to take responsibility? Join Les Brown in Miami at the 10X Growth Conference—you can watch it from your living room. We want to take you to the next level.

It is a myth and falsehood to think that success just happens or that it just happens to some people. You are the source, the generator, the origin, and the reason for everything—both positive and negative. This is not meant to simplify the concept of success, of course, but until you decide you are responsible for everything, you likely will not take the action necessary to get you above the game.

Assume responsibility for everything.

That includes getting your streaming ticket to 10X Growth Conference. You can make excuses or you can take responsibility for your growth, your success, and your life and invest in your future.

This will be the biggest event of 2017. As my friend Les has said, “You don’t need a PHD, but you do need passion, hunger, and drive.” Victory comes to those who take the most action.

Be great,

GC
