When you make an extra mortgage payment towards the principal pay-down on your property, you are saying to the bank, “Hey Mr. Banker, here’s $1,000. Don’t pay me any interest on it and if I need it back I’ll pay you fees. Plus, I’ll prove to you that I qualify again.” Well that doesn’t make any sense now does it?
