CHAMPIONS PLAY AS ONE ~ TEAMWORK
“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” – Phil Jackson
One of the challenges faced when becoming an entrepreneur is understanding the importance of teamwork. The quote above by Phil Jackson can’t be further from the truth. As head coach in the NBA, Jackson won a total of 11 championships. With the Chicago Bulls, Jackson won six NBA championships. From 2000 to 2010 Jackson was head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers and won five NBA championships. Prior to the Chicago Bulls, Jackson coached the New York Knicks and won two NBA championships. Jackson holds the NBA record for the most combined championships. Jackson has been named one of the 10 greatest coaches in league history.
So, is winning about the coach or the team? Did Jackson win the championships single handedly? Of course not. Any member of a team, relies on the team, they sacrifice for the team, and it is why the team, not the individual is the ultimate champion. This is why, I love my business. I have been privileged to be part of a team that work unselfishly. We aim for success, support and encourage each other, and take pride in our work and in our team.
At Virtuity Financial Partners we have an incredible organizational culture. One whose foundation stands strong on “faith, family, & business,” and in that order. A championship team is excited, enthusiastic, and intense. They are surrounded with great leadership and mentors that inspire them to max out and strive for continuous improvement.
So, what do you need to have a championship team?
Leadership that motivates and inspires
Leadership that provides support (on and off the court)
A clear vision for the team
Team members who are motivated
An understanding and acceptance of each teammates strengths
A leader who leads by example, encourages, and maintains positive energy
A leader that is capable of building more leaders
A Quality team must have the following characteristics:
1. Accountability
2. Trust
3. Support of one another without judgement
4. Team pride
5. Consistency & continuity
So, who is in your team line up for a championship 2018? If you are interested in playing on a championship team, please reach out to us.
